Tip Sheet: What to Do When a Book is Challenged

I scanned a document that Michael Edmonds, my lecturer last year for LIS 450, prepared for the class for future reference. It is condensed from http://ccb.lis.illinois.edu/challenge.html (updated link from one mentioned in document) and ALA's Coping with Challenges.

  1. Mel, thank you for posting this. It's also nice to see the process spelled out succinctly in this document. I am really proud to have an organization like the CCBC in Wisconsin, that will provide resources for book bans.

  2. You are very welcome! I think CCBC is pretty awesome too -- and was very surprised to hear they are very active with these issues we are talking about this week. I had no idea we had such a great resource right here in Madison.
